- Study of the adaptation of new species to soil and climate conditions and their suitability to cultivation techniques.
- Genetic improvement through crossing or selection.
- Application of novel technologies and biotechnological tools for the development of ingredients and functional foods.
- Evaluation of bioactive properties using in vitro markers (antioxidant, antihypertensive, anti-inflammatory properties, glycemic index, among others).
- Preclinical trials using a gastrointestinal simulator.
